Vitamin B12, also called cobalamin, it is a water-soluble Vitamin with a key role in the functioning of the brain and nervous system and for the formation of blood. It is involved in the metabolism of every cell of the human body, especially affecting DNA synthesis and regulation and also Fatty Acid metabolism and Amino Acid metabolism (1). Vitamins B help the body convert food (Carbohydrates) into fuel (Glucose), which is used to produce energy. These Vitamins B often referred to as B-complex Vitamins, also help the body use fats and protein. B-complex Vitamins are needed for healthy skin, hair, eyes, and liver (2).

A common semi-synthetic form of the Vitamin is Cyanocobalamin, Cyanocobalamin usually does not occur in living organisms, but animals can convert commercially produced Cyanocobalamin into active (cofactor) forms of the Vitamin, such as Methylcobalamin (3).

Why Life On Vit B12-Life Daily Oral Spray?

Life On Vit B12-Life Daily Oral Spray has a unique formula of Liposomal Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin). Methylcobalamin is the only biologically active form of Vitamin B12, and when encased in liposomes, Methylcobalamin is protected from damage during digestion so that it is more readily absorbed by the body and can be easily distributed to the cells in the body. Methylcobalamin has greater tissue retention and absorption in the body (3).

Methylcobalamin contributes in treatment of pernicious anaemia is a type of anaemia that happens when stomach cells are not able to make intrinsic factor. Without intrinsic factor, your body cannot absorb Vitamin B12. Symptoms include: weakness, pale skin diarrhoea weight loss fever, numbness or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, confusion, memory loss and moodiness(2).

Methylcobalamin contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal functioning of the nervous system, normal Homocysteine metabolism, normal red blood cell formation, normal function of the immune system, Vitamin reduction of tiredness and fatigue (4).

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) one large study found that women, who took 1,000 mcg of Vitamin B12, along with 2500 mcg of Folic Acid and 500 mg of Vitamin B6 daily, reduced the risk of developing AMD, an eye disease that can cause loss of vision (2).

Methylcobalamin contributes in treatment of breast cancer although there is no evidence that Vitamin B12 alone reduces the risk of breast cancer, population studies have shown that women who get more folate in their diet have lower risk of breast cancer. Vitamin B12 works with folate in the body, so it may help reduce breast cancer risk (2).

Methylcobalamin contributes in promoting male infertility recent studies suggest that Vitamin B12 supplements may improve sperm counts and sperm's ability to swim (2).
