Adipose tissue or fattytissue, is a connective tissue consisting mainly of fat cells (adipose cells or adipocytes), specialized to synthesize and contain large globules of fat, within a structural network of fibres. It is found mainly under the skin but also in deposits between the muscles, in the intestines and in their membrane folds, around the heart and elsewhere. It is also found in the bone marrow, where it imparts a yellow colour; yellow marrow is most abundant in adults. The fat stored in adipose tissue comes from dietary fats or is produced in the body (1), adipose tissue deposition leads to increase in cardio metabolic risk factor, the risk of diabetes cardiovascular diseases and obesity (2).

It is an essential component of cell membranes, brain and nerve cells and bile, which helps the body to absorb fats and fat-soluble vitamins.Body uses cholesterol to make vitamin D and various hormones, such as estrogen, testosterone and cortisol (3).
Life On Chito-Life has a natural polysaccharide chitosan which is extracted from the shell fish. Chitosan is also known as soluble chitin. Its preliminary human study showed that 3-6 grams per day of chitosan taken for 2 weeks resulted in a 6% drop in cholesterol and a 10% increase in HDL ("good") cholesterol. Chitosan in large amounts, given with vitamin C, has been shown to reduce the absorption of dietary fat (4).
Chitosan is not digestible buthave beneficial effects on the gastrointestinal tract such as it reduces the absorption of bile acids or cholesterol causing lowering of blood cholesterol (4).
